Company

The Original Team

The following text was the original description of the team that designed Reflex.

We are a team of seasoned information security professionals who began our careers as software developers and system administrators, pivoting into security when the industry demanded it. We were Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) before the title was even recognized—before executives understood why security needed a seat at the table. Each of us has over thirty years of experience, collectively spanning centuries in the field. And yes, we are some of the oldest professionals still pushing the boundaries of technology.

We didn’t start out trying to build a company. We were searching for a tool that didn’t exist—a tool we needed but no one had created. When we began designing it, we recognized that its impact would extend far beyond today’s needs. That realization proved correct.

We have built the first technology capable of constructing AI models to assist in real-time security incident response. While other companies claim to leverage AI for this purpose, the reality is starkly different. AI cannot respond to live attacks without historical data models, and such data has never been available. Companies do not share incident response data due to legal liability, reputational risks, and compliance concerns.

As we all approach retirement age, none of us has the desire to run a large company, nor do we have the skill set. And this platform will require a large company if all options are to be utilized to the fullest. Large—meaning a staff capable of supporting very fast growth, moving from a small team to a second-round funding company very quickly.

The Current Team

“There is no ‘I’ in team,” as the old saying goes. Once again breaking the rules: I, being Craig Brown, am the team.

I spent my life breaking through barriers: I worked with the fairness-in-tech group that later became the first diversity advisory group; advocated for children with learning disabilities as a Special Education Surrogate Parent for children taken in by DCF; founded the largest layoff support network in the US to help people laid off in the previous recession. I even traveled to Russia to confront the rising threat of cyber warfare firsthand.

47+ years in tech. For the past 12 , I worked a full-time job while also building the most advanced information security software platform in existence. The platform is called Reflex.

Reflex is an entirely new class of software. It fills a critical need that had, until now, gone unnoticed. The explanation for this is simple: the people who needed it didn’t know what was possible — or what was impossible. Given my background, I believed anything was possible, and I had the knowledge to understand the requirements. But the definition of “impossible” really depends on a number of factors. A big one was waiting for underlying new technology to become stable. One obstacle I never thought about was the perception of being too old to work in technology. Off all professions, technology is the worst when it comes to age discrimination. In Silicon Valley, there are 40-year-old men getting Botox to look younger!

I don’t have the skill set to explain the platform to anyone with the means to invest in it. But after years of trying — and recent developments in AI technology — I was given the tools to invent something else. I created a number of videos that I believe explain the platform and what it can do. Have a look at my resume, then trust me on this when I say, what you see here is absolute state-of-the-art using a powerful desktop PC (i9, 4090). They may not look polished, but they were the best I can do. Maybe somebody with 50+ years of hacking experience could do better

I have created this website for one reason. I plan to sell the Reflex platform (including intellectual property rights to the nine patents pending) to an entrepreneur; an existing company in the information security space; the U.S. government; or the government of a developing nation. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the right group of people: a fully functioning enterprise-level platform that has no seed funding or original staff.
